Giuliano Carmignola (Violin)
Ottavio Dantone (Conductor)
One of the true stars of the label “Archiv Produktion” Giuliano Carmignola continues his mission to open new music to his great German fanbase, based on authentic and original sources. Many of Vivaldi’s violin concertos are largely unknown today, partly because of their inaccurate publication.
These new recordings of the violin concertos RV 187 and 281 are based on the original manuscripts of Vivaldi and show the spontaneity and liveliness of the compositional art of the Italian master. The concerto RV 283 contains a previously unpublished cadenza from the notebook of the Vivaldi protegée Anna Maria. Carmignola is accompanied by the unique Ensemle Accademia Bizantina under the direction of the baroque specialist Ottavio Dantone.
