Giuseppe Sammartini: Concerto Grazioso – 6 Concerti grossi, Op. 5

For many years, the Swiss high-end label Tudor has accompanied the recordings of the Capriccio Baroque Orchestra in a special edition dedicated and designed for the orchestra. Now there is a new recording in the series: After editions with unrecognised works by Mudge, Hayes, Gregori, Hertel and Lully, the “Entdecker-Orchester” presents another premiere with inspiring works by Giuseppe Sammartini, the brother of the older and more famous Giovanni Battista Sammartini. Six Concerti Grossi and two concertos for flute and oboe prove to be delightful repertoire enrichments for all baroque fans.
