The goal of ‘Josquin & Antonello’ is to relate the music of the Franco-Flemish school of Josquin Desprez with the art of Antonello da Messina. A link that highlights the bonds between the two artists, both forerunners and innovators.

This new release features music from Josquin Desprez performed by renaissance lute expert Michele Cinquina. Michele Cinquina studied classical guitar with the masters Marco Salcito and Andrea Dieci, graduating with the latter at the “Luisa D’Annunzio” Conservatory in Pescara. He graduated with honors at the University of Macerata under the guidance of prof. V. Caporaletti. His great love for ancient music and historical research led him to study the lute and the theorbo under the careful care of Maestro Franco Pavan, graduating at the E.F. Dall’Abaco of Verona. With lute, theorbo and baroque guitar, as accompanist and continuist he performed concerts with numerous singers, choirs, chamber groups and orchestras including: ScarlattiLab, the Accademia degli Invaghiti in Mantova, Oficina Musicum, the Accademia degli Orfei, Ars Cantus, and more.
