Renaissance treasures This CD of Cristóbal de Morales’ Missa Mille regretz and Missa Desilde al cavallero is the first installment in a new Hyperion series of the Spanish Renaissance composer’s masses and magnificats. Morales was perhaps the most famous composer of his time – between the death of Josquin and the rise of Palestrina and Lassus – and who better to guide us through the treasures his œuvre has to offer than the all-male vocal ensemble De Profundis, conducted by Robert Hollingworth and Eamonn Dougan.
