The album Someday My Prince Will Come (Columbia CS 8456) was the only studio album recorded by the Miles Davis Quintet in the formation with Hank Mobley on tenor saxophone (the other two releases consisted of live recordings) It was also Miles’ last reunion with John Coltrane, who joins Mobley on the title track and is the only tenor heard on “Teo” In addition to the six original tracks on the album, two more from this session have been selected as bonuses (one of which features Philly Joe Jones on drums), as well as two live versions played at the Blackhawk in San Francisco. |
