“Blue Spirits” is trumpeter Freddie Hubbard’s final 1960s studio album for Blue Note. This bluesy and spirited work features five atmospheric Hubbard originals, including “Soul Surge,” “Outer Forces” and “Jodo,” each with a richly textured arrangement for an ensemble of four horns.
