Ludwig van Beethoven:Violin Sonatas Nos. 1-10 (Complete)

Artists

Robert Casadesus (Piano)Zino Francescatti (Violin)

The recording of all of Beethoven’s violin sonatas, which are expressly called “Sonatas for piano and violin” (and not the other way around), by pianist Robert Casadesus and violinist Zino Francescatti, is one of the finds in the recording history. It was written in stereo between 1958 and 1961 in Paris (both artists are French) and had long been neglected in Germany. Today, however, it is one of the legendary cycles. Now it is being released for the first time in an edition with seven CDs. The cycle is complemented, excellently remastered, by the mono recordings of Sonatas No. 3-9, which were recorded in New York between 1947 and 1957.
