Hans Zimmer’s Bond soundtrack
After the film release has already been postponed a few times, “James Bond: No Time To Die” (original title: “No Time To Die”), the 25th installment of the famous agent thriller series, will be released in German cinemas in September 2021. Fittingly, the soundtrack to the film, “James Bond: No Time To Die,” by Hans Zimmer, will be released on October 1. The German film composer, arranger and music producer has been responsible for the scores of numerous classic films and series in the past. These include “Pirates Of The Caribbean”, “The Lion King”, “Sherlock”, “The Da Vinci Code”, “Gladiator”, “The Dark Knight”, “Inception”, “Interstellar”, “Thelma & Louise” and many more “No Time To Die,” however, is the first Bond soundtrack of his impressive career. Zimmer commented, “Having the opportunity to work on such an iconic franchise as 007 has been an incredibly exciting experience.” Furthermore, he said he is excited for the world to hear the new sounds of James Bond in “No Time To Die” soon. Dan Romer was actually announced as the composer for the film’s score in July 2019, having previously scored two films by director Cary Joji Fukunaga. However, Romer left the film at the end of 2019 due to creative differences, with Hans Zimmer taking over in January 2020. This is the first time in the history of the Bond series that a composer has been replaced during post-production. Steve Mazzaro produced the film’s score, while Johnny Marr (The Smiths) played guitar. The film’s score album was originally scheduled for release as early as March 2020 via Decca Records but, like the film, has been delayed until October 2021. The film’s title track, “No Time To Die”, by US singer-songwriter Billie Eilish, who also co-wrote the song with her brother Finneas, is also included on the soundtrack album. The track was first presented at the 2020 BRIT Awards – with Johnny Marr on guitar and Hans Zimmer conducting the orchestra. “James Bond: No Time To Die (No Time To Die)” is available as CD and double LP. |
