Pioneering composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi announces his new album “The Summer Portraits”. Last year, Einaudi visited a villa on a Mediterranean island and saw that the house was decorated with 30 or 40 beautiful oil paintings that were clearly by the same hand. During his research, he came across the story of a woman who owned the house and spent every summer there with her family. She created new paintings every summer and left them in the house.

“I started thinking about my summers, the time when my life was intimately connected to all my senses, when the days felt like months and the months felt like years, when I was free from morning to night, when every day was a new discovery of life, and when nature was an essential part of it, we were nature,” he says. “A beautiful season, connected to the best moments of our lives. So I started painting my own pictures with music. This album is dedicated to all our endless summer memories, all our beautiful moments.”
