The multi-instrumentalist Roland Kirk, who died in 1977 at the age of just 42, was certainly one of the most bizarre originals in jazz. He first proved that he also had an extraordinary knack for emphatically groovy music on the Verve album “Now Please Don’t You Cry, Beautiful Edith” in 1967. Verve Acoustic Sounds Series: Stereo, completely analog mastered by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound from the original tapes, QPR pressing (180 g), sturdy tip-on gatefold (Stoughton Printing), padded inner sleeve. |
