Radio broadcasts always have a very special significance for orchestras. It was therefore highly esteemed for the Staatskapelle that two of its guest concerts were broadcast by “Radio Leningrad”. The fact that the recordings obviously represented a documentary archive treasure is proven by the care and good technical condition of the over 60-year-old tapes, which have even been preserved together with their original radio announcements.
