Barber, Walton and Korngold: Violin Concertos

The young Canadian violinist James Ehnes makes his debut on the Onyx label with this recording. For this he selected three violin concertos of the 20th century. “Mr. Ehnes really can play (…) rarely can you hear such singing on the violin,” wrote the New York Times after the performance of Walton’s violin concerto with the New York Philharmonic. Besides this concert, the works of Korngold and Barber are also part of this recording.
