The Martinu Quartet was founded in 1976 as the Havlák Quartet by then students of the Prague Conservatory. They soon won prizes at important international competitions and launched a brilliant international career. In addition to the cultivation of the traditional Czech repertoire, a special concern of the musicians is their commitment to music of the modern age and contemporary compositions.
