To mark the 300th birthday of Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini announced in 2010 that it would record and publish on DVD all of the composer’s surviving operas – a total of four opere series, two intermezzi and two comedies. The present production of Adriano in Siria and the Intermezzo Livietta e Tracollo took place in June 2010 on the stage of the beautiful historical Pergolesi Theatre in his hometown Jesi The new production by Ignacio García also includes the comic intermezzo Livietta e Tracollo, which was already played as an interlude comedy at the premiere of Adriano in Siria in 1734.
