Gabriel Fauré: Nocturnes Nos.1-13 – Germaine Thyssens-Valentin

Germaine Thyssens-Valentin’s career as a pianist was interrupted for 25 years. And so it was not until 1951, at the age of 49, that she returned to the public stage to inspire the critics anew. In a way, she rediscovered the piano composer Fauré and performed his complete piano works again and again. And so she mastered the intricate figurations with which the melody lines of the piano works are embellished and interwoven as if by magic.
