For years Max Richter has been regarded as one of the most outstanding personalities of a new generation of musicians who fluently sound out the boundaries between electronic music, ambient and classical music. His albums Sleep and Vivaldi Recomposed, which have been highly praised by the press, have touched and inspired millions of people worldwide, as have his soundtracks for Hollywood blockbusters such as Ad Astra, Mary Queen of Scots or for the successful series The Leftovers or My Brilliant Friend.
For more than ten years he developed the innovative concept for his new album Voices, which is inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In a time of dramatic global change, Voices opens up a musical, universal message of hope with which Max Richter tries to unite his audience worldwide through his music.
Max Richter invited people all over the world to become part of the moving musical landscape of Voices and to send in readings of human rights in various languages – they are the voices of Voices.
I like the idea of a piece of music as a place for reflection, and it’s quite obvious that we all need to think right now.” (Max Richter)
