Academy of Ancient Music (AAM) releases here the final installment of an acclaimed project to record Mozart’s complete works for piano and orchestra. Fittingly, this final installment contains three works that are farewells in various respects: K595 is Mozart’s last completed piano concerto, while K503 represents the last of his Viennese years. Louise Alder joins AAM and Robert Levin in an aria for solo soprano, solo piano and orchestra: “Ch’io mi scordi di te?” is a farewell to one of Mozart’s favorite singers, Nancy Storace. |
