He was eight years old when he heard the radio broadcast of a Gershwin concert at home in England. That changed his life, Wayne Marshall tells us about fifty years later in a video clip on Westdeutscher Rundfunk. The listening experience that gave his life the perhaps decisive turnaround finally led him to Cologne, as chief conductor of the Funkhausorchester.
