Dreamteam for Telemann

They are undoubtedly a well-rehearsed musical dream team: for many years now, the well-known recorder player Stefan Temmingh, who hails from South Africa, has been working with the celebrated German soprano and established early music specialist Dorothee Mields in concert and on recordings. Here, the two exceptional artists Georg Philipp Telemann will devote themselves to this. When Telemann published his first printed volume of cantatas in Hamburg in 1725 / 26, he was already regarded as one of the most important composers of his time in this respect. Because of their brevity and the sparse, easily realized instrumentation with voice, solo instrument and basso continuo, the 72 solo cantatas soon enjoyed great popularity. Three works for soprano with obbligato recorder were selected for recording with ACCENT and combined with three virtuoso recorder sonatas from the oeuvre of the great musical cosmopolitan.
