“The unstoppable energy of youth – no other opera expresses it like La Bohème. Puccini throws us into a world in which everyone finds themselves. And he shows us what it really means to fall in love.” There is no doubt that with Puccini’s masterpiece La Bohème, tenor Roberto Alagna, from whom these words come, found the work that was for him the ticket to the world of opera. In the early 1990s, at the beginning of his career, he toured the world as the ideal Rodolfo – the starting point for the complete recording under the direction of Antonio Pappano and singers such as Leontina Vaduva, Thomas Hampson, Simon Keenlyside or Samuel Ramey, which remains one of the milestones in Alagna’s discography. |
