With his album “The Disney Book,” star pianist Lang Lang takes his listeners into the fairy-tale world of flying carpets, ice castles and talking animals, presenting the iconic film melodies in a very unique and stylistically diverse way. “These new versions are sort of composed into my fingers. I wanted something really artistic and pianistic,” Lang Lang said.

The diverse arrangements preserve the essence of the well-known melodies and at the same time are new works reminiscent of the sound world of Debussy and Chopin or the virtuosity of Liszt and Horowitz.

From “Pinocchio” to “The Jungle Book,” “Aladdin,” “The Lion King” and “Encanto” – The Disney Book brings together a whole century of classics from film history.

Lang Lang interprets these unforgettable melodies with virtuosity and imagination – both as a soloist and with a large orchestra. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, for example, sings the lushly orchestrated title melody from “Beauty and the Beast” or “Let Go Now” from “The Ice Queen”.

Prominent guests from various musical genres are also featured on the album: Andrea Bocelli, Miloš, Jon Batiste and Sebastián Yatra among them The Disney Book is a tribute to unique childhood memories, magical moments and timeless feelings of happiness – triggered by the magic of music.
