Grandiose Age Work Jephtha was to become Handel’s last original work before he went completely blind in May 1752. He succeeds in a musical climax of the baroque oratorio, which contains large choirs, emotional arias and moving ensembles. In the extensive CARUS series of Handel recordings on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the composer’s death next year, the Chamber Choir of the Dresden Frauenkirche and the Dresden Baroque Orchestra, in addition to hand-picked soloists, were once again able to gain their first strength. |
