in 2009, pianist Gabor Farkas, then aged 28, won the sixth international Liszt Competition in Bayreuth. It was only the third time that the jury had decided to award first prize. Now the graduate of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest is presenting an anniversary program ranging from the master’s Etudes to the symphonic poem No. 1 “Ce Qu’on Entend Sur La Montagne”. Accompanied by the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra under Zoltan Kocsis. |
